October 2024 - Update 5
I had a nice visit to Nottingham during the first weekend of October. The reason - to visit the Nottingham Society of Arts Gallery which was hosting the SAA finalists exhibition. It was great to see my painting displayed alongside such an array of fine artwork. It was also nice to meet the other artists, the friendly SAA staff, and to have a glass of bubbly or two!

September 2024 - Update 4
It's been a great start to the month with the 10 year anniversary of Liverpool Urban Sketchers. A fantastic weekend of events between 6 - 9 September has seen hundreds of sketchers from around the country descend on our waterfront and surrounding areas. A superb book has been launched called Liverpool by Urban Sketchers and this is available in Jacksons Art shop in Slater Street, Liverpool, either by calling in or on line.

July/August 2024 - Update 3
I've been working on an illustrative graphic short story called 'The Bat Catcher'. It's been great fun and I hope to launch it on Instagram in a few weeks under the name of @thegraphicstoryteller

June 2024 - Update 2

So I didn't make it as SAA Magazine Artist of the Year. However, my picture (I will put on website soon) was in the highly commended category. So nice try but no cigar!

I had a great night at the opening of the Liverpool Art Fair on the 27th in the Royal Liver Building. Caught up with arty and non arty friends, drank some Guinness and wine, and had some salty chips and chicken wings in Ma Boyles pub. Magical!

June 2024 - Update 1

It's been a busy few weeks splashing paint around, painting commissions and preparing for exhibitions. As well as that I had some great news! I'm a finalist in the SAA Artist of the Year 2024. I was runner up last year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed to go one step further this year.

I'm excited to have five paintings selected for the Liverpool Art Fair which is being held in The Royal Liver Buildings between the 28th June and the 18th August. It's a free show, open 6 days a week, and there's plenty to see with over 200 artworks on display.

There's something different in the dot-art gallery in Liverpool and I'm honoured to have a picture in it. It's called 'A Window to your Neighbourhood' and is part of The Liverpool Architects Festival 2024. The dot-art exhibition features lesser known images and is well worth a visit. It runs until the 17th August.

Also check out Art in the Ev which is in the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool until the 18th June 2024. It features work from a number of Wirral artists, and although I don't live on the Wirral I was delighted to be invited to exhibit three paintings.
